Murder case

Due to our strong reputation and command of the law, from time to time, our lawyers are hired to work with other independent defence lawyers as part of a team for trials or appeals.  We have successfully done so in the past, giving our clients the best chance at success.

A recent example is our involvement in the defence team representing a client charged with first degree murder.  The client was charged with murder in relation to one of the first shootings at a Toronto high school.  This was high profile case that attracted major media attention for several years.

The client maintained his innocence and exercised his right to a judge and jury trial.

At trial, the prosecution theory was the client shot and robbed the victim inside the school.   He then remained at the school pretending not to be involved.

The defence led evidence through both Crown and defence witnesses that supported its theory of innocence.

The client was found not guilty by a jury after several months of trial and days of deliberations.  The trial process included lots of witnesses and important legal issues that were ruled in favour of our client.
